[MISC] Proud Dad CoC Moment Update

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a story about my stepson and I playing CoC together. Really appreciated all of the responses it got. One of the things I mentioned in the story was that my stepson, who is 8, was solely focused on getting his TH5 base upgraded to TH7 and unlocking the "Boss Barbarian." This seemed to be a favorite with most readers and I got several requests for an update when it happened.

I'm sure it's been a while for many since they ran through the lower TH's, but he's been at it 24/7. I forgot how quick it could go. And he's not rushing his base, I'm making sure he gets everything upgraded as he goes. And with 150 troops and some Max donations (his new favorite is 3 bowlers and a wall breaker to get him inside the base), he's actually really done well attacking TH6's and even some TH7's. He's even mentioned how much he hates that he steals dark elixir from TH7's but has no where to save it.

He still occasionally wants to roll barbs and archers in too soon and now that he has a heal spell, he's really quick with them. But, I have to admit, he's really figuring out his attack strategy and is already over 1200 trophies (even though he's farming more than pushing).

And while he's prob staying up later than I should let him, he's on a mission. This morning I got up early and noticed that his base had finished his TH7 update. So, while he was asleep, I bought him the TH7 pack ($9.99) and started building his new defenses and barracks.

He woke up while I was on a conference call from work and came running into my office like it was Christmas morning. "You got the big guy!" He was really surprised. He also immediately noticed that the pack gave him the Barb King at level 5, and his ability was already unlocked (we'd been talking about how important this would be).

He was so motivated, he immediately took the Hero out for a spin and came back minutes later to proudly announce he didn't even use his clan castle troops on his attack.

I anticipate that as the Town Halls upgrade, the time lines get longer, he might grow less patient with the game. But so far, it's just been a lot of fun. I actually found out Saturday that my company is going to be going back to a more normal routine in the next week or so. So our stay at home time is coming to an end soon. But this has been a lot of fun. His mom told us yesterday that when we start talking CoC, she can see us really get way too into it. I take that as a compliment.

Now, next milestone of unlocked the Queen Lady (Archer Queen) is going to take a lot more work and time. But here's to hoping he sticks with it!
