It's similar to tornado trap, once triggered it will cover the area with smoke and you literally can't see anything. Buildings/enemy units and your units can still attack each other within the smoke so they are like unaffected by it. Only you, the player, is affected...

You should be able to see what happens when you watch the replay though and your opponent can see through the smoke when watching live.

Not sure if "smoke" should be the right word for it...

EDIT: while we're at it, I'm also thinking in the future for th14. Once th14 got destroyed, it will have a flash bang(same effect as smoke trap) where the entire screen turns white for a short period.
