PSA: Last chance to out of of Class-Action and Arbitration provisions in ToS

This is a simple public service announcement and not a recommendation one way or the other, we just wish to inform you that you have a choice in this matter.

On April 15th, Supercell updated their terms of service to include provisions stating users will not participate in any class-action suits, and agree to settle disputes by arbitration instead of through other legal means. These provisions are detailed in Section 8 of the Terms of Service

Section 8.6 describes the opt out process -

You can choose to opt out of and not be bound by the Arbitration Agreement and No Class Action provisions above (Sections 8.1 to 8.5) by sending written notice of your decision to opt out to [legal-requests@supercell.com](mailto:legal-requests@supercell.com) with the subject line "ARBITRATION AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER OPT-OUT." You must send us this notice within thirty (30) days of your first use of the Service or availability of this opt-out, whichever is later. If you do not send us a notice within that time, you will be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Supercell also will not be bound by them.

If you wish to exercise this option, you need to send that email by May 14th. Probably earlier just to be safe.

We reached out last week to ask if players need to opt out from each account separately, and if anything besides the subject line of the email is needed but haven't heard back yet. If we do this post will be updated with that information.
