    Before asking if your War Base is Good, Read this.

    Starting off by asking not to use this base for war, haha

    Hello! I go to this subreddit a lot, and have noticed a trend of people asking if their war base is good. That is great to see, as I dislike it when people just pop a base without any thought for war. However, there are many common mistakes people make before posting. Here is what I mean:

    Not taking a look at a guide or two on base building before making a base

    Everyone should be creative when making their own base. That's part of what makes this game fun to play. However, there are a few things in war base building that are objectively good/bad to do (Important ones will be discussed below). By reading some base building guides for your respective town halls, you can gain a basic understanding of things that are good/bad to do. I read one guide and that instantly revolutionized my base building, for reference.

    Th12 Videos in the correct watching order:

    OldBB: Live BB - Beginners/Intermediate

    Marco - Short BB Guide+Build

    Maru - Live BB #2 Advanced

    Maru's Live BB #2 explains some advanced concepts, we recommend watching all the videos in the Baits category before this Live BB, this way you'll understand each bait individually and then head into the Live BB which has all at once

    Marco - Hybrid and LaLo #1

    Marco - Hybrid and LaLo #2

    Marco - Unorthodox Building

    Have yet to find a TH13/14 guide

    If it's marked as old, take it with a grain of salt. Metas change, and so does the general game (Like zap radius changes). However, the guides still hold valuable content.

    Common mistakes I see

    Centered town hall at TH11 and below

    This one is pretty debatable, but in war bases, especially normal wars, this is a mistake to do, because

    It allows for any siege pathing

    It is a clunky building that doesn't fill too well with many compartments. Like a storage

    Remember, a fail in a war is (most of the time) two stars. In war (Normal especially) it is three star or fail. In other words, giving the town hall for damn near free isn't that bad to do. As long as it helps towards preventing a three star on your base.

    Air defenses and wizard towers beside one another

    This one is pretty simple, but I always seem to find people posting bases with it four ADs beside four WTs. It's just not good to do.

    A lava hound will target air defenses. If there are wizard towers beside the ADs, then the wizard will target the hound. This allows for the hound to tank for balloons, of which are easily shredded by WTs. Try your best to keep them apart.

    Symmetry isn't always a great thing

    A ton of people post war bases that are pretty much symmetrical. Now, symmetrical isn't always terrible, like some people say. It's actually great at TH11. However, only if you can build it right. It can also make attacks like LaLo easier to predict in terms of pathing. Just keep that in mind when deciding to make a base symmetrical or not.

    Final Notes

    I'm not a pro at base building, far from it. In fact, I'm only TH11. However, this post is not made to help others create the best base, but to help guide others in to good base building. There are some really great base building communities that I advise anyone to join if they are in to war base building and want to improve upon it. They can do a lot more help that I can.
