    CWL just finished and I've got some medals burning a hole in my pocket. Instinct is to buy a few hammers and knockout some of the bigger upgrades, but then I started thinking – is that the most efficient? That got me thinking. But first, a little background.

    I've been playing since March 2013. Had a maxed TH12 before this last update (free to play except for the gold passes and the occasional décor item) so I've been working on maxing TH13. I'm also a big farmer – trophies don't matter much to me as I'd rather upgrade my base. One training potion per night and an hour of hitting primarily dead bases down in Gold/Crystal/Master (plus someone online to supply cc troops) keeps all 6 builders busy. I mention that because loot generally isn't an issue and that point plays into my thought process…

    So let's start with the math part, comparing Hammer of Heroes to Builder Potions. Apologizes if this has been talked about before.

    Let's say I have 330 CWL Medals. I can either purchase 1) 2 Hammer of Heroes or 2) 11 Builder Potions. Let's look at each option and focus on the builder time each saves, again because loot comes so easily that the loot that the Hammers save isn't a huge benefit to me. If loot is a struggle for you, this comparison won't make much sense.

    Option 1 – 2 Hammer of Heroes

    Assuming no Gold Pass bonuses, each Hammer can save you a maximum of 7.5 days each for a total of 15 days. Pretty straight forward. Again, I am not assuming anything on the loot side because I find loot, even Dark Elixir, very easy to obtain.

    Option 2 – 11 Builder Potions

    • Each Builder Potion cuts 9 hours of build time (Builder goes 10x as fast, so 1 hour = 10 hours, or 9 hours faster than normal).
    • 11 Builder Potions at 9 hours each = 99 hours save per upgrade
    • Running 6 builders, all upgrading something, 594 hours of upgrade time saved (99 * 6)
    • 594 hours is 24.75 days of builder time saved.

    So on the surface, it looks like I can save almost 10 additional days of builder time by spending my medals on Builder Potions rather than Hammers. And for someone who can grab loot easily, cutting as many days as possible seems like the better option.

    Am I missing something? Would love to hear your thoughts.

    [QUESTION]

    I'm a clash royale fan and wanted to get into coc but I'm hesitant to start playing because it's painfully slow to level up and progress and I just don't know if I'll have the patience

    Like this game can take roughly 2 years to complete if we're excluding payment school,social interactions ect (if I'm wrong let me know)

    Should I start playing?
